08.19.05 - Lena is set to begin filming the movie Devil You Know on Sept. 1st, replacing Lesley Anne Warren who was fired for her diva behavior, according to the NY Post. Lena will play an aging actress married to a younger man played by Dean Winters. Her "character becomes jealous of her gorgeous daughter, played by British beauty Rosamund Pike, who is drawing Winters into a love triangle....Cast and crew were elated to learn Lena Olin has Warren's part. "So much more talented — and younger," said our source."

08.07.05 - Many thanks to Kakan for translating this recent Swedish article from Se&Hör!

07.26.05 - Is Lena returning to Alias for season 5? Hopefully so, though still nothing official yet. In today's Pittsburgh Post Gazette there is a tantalizing comment from show writer Breen Frazier, who at Saturday's Writer's Guild of America cocktail reception, is reported to have said Lena Olin and Mia Maestro will both return.

Then there's E!'s Kristin who says, according to her sources, Mia is "gone. Not even in one episode." Kristin is obviously not the most reliable source, so that should likely be taken with a grain of salt. I'm just holding out for more official word on Lena's return before I believe it's for definite.

07.25.05 - Big thanks to Kakan and Anna for more pics of Lena this summer in Sweden! Lena, Tora & Johan Hallström and Lena & Tora swarmed by photographers.

07.21.05 - Here's a little Michael Vartan quote from an article on big-screen names working in tv.

"Rehearsing for his series' season finale this spring, he watched Olin and Rossellini discussing an upcoming scene and was struck by the accomplished duo. "I thought, 'These actors are on our show!' It's insane sometimes."

07.18.05 - Here's a new pic of Lena and Tora in Sweden this summer. Big thanks to Kakan for this!

07.14.05 - Well, the Emmy people really missed the boat - no Lena nomination for Guest Actress. Unforgivable.

06.27.05 - Backstage.Com has an good article on TV's "Monster Mommies". I've included the writer's excellent Lena/Irina analysis here.

In movie news, Casanova will be the featured film at the upcoming Venice International Film Festival, with the gala premiere on Sept. 3rd. Lena is slated to attend, along with her director husband.

06.21.05 - Got the new issue of the Alias magazine yearbook. Even though it's really expensive I do highly recommend it for all the Lena goodies! I've scanned a bunch of it and added it to the Articles section. Enjoy!

Huge congrats to Kakan for meeting Victor and "Marshall" at the London Alias convention! She even got to ask the question all of us Lena fans would've like to ask!

Q: “What was it like to work with Lena Olin?” ( and I said "Lena Olin" in two ways...first American and then in the ordinary Swedish way )

Victor: “Lena is fantastic. She brought so much to season two, season 3 lost a lot because she was not there. Season 4 was a huge bonus to have her there, we would have suffered without her there. She’s delightful and unbelievably beautiful. I wish she’d come back and do more. It’s funny, I’d walk by her make up trailer and she was always on her cell phone talking Swedish, and her voice would go up a couple of octaves, it didn’t sound like it was part of her. Then when you add Sonia Braga and… (He forgets Isabella Rosellini’s name, and michelleann68 shouts it out) Right, Isabella, then you’ve got like a truly international set. Especially when all three are talking at once.”

Way to go, Kakan! Thanks for sharing. :)
